Love of Literacy Luncheon
March 28 @ 11:30 am – 1:30 pm

Featuring keynote speaker Laura Duksta, NYT-Bestselling Author and Speaker.
Every year, South Shore Stars brings community leaders and advocates together to raise awareness of the power of reading, and to support the youngest learners in our community by raising needed funds to invest in early literacy through Stars Family Literacy signature program – Reading is so Exciting (RISE). RISE is based on decades of research that concludes that children’s ability to learn to read is highly correlated to the amount of time that their parents read out loud to them. Our comprehensive early literacy programming serves over 200 children and families and provides many benefits such as:
- A lending library in multiple languages in each of our classrooms
- Taking home literacy activity bags to each of our centers
- Books for children to own
- 20+ family literacy events per year
Please consider participating in our only fundraising event to benefit RISE. With your generosity, we are optimistic that we can reach our $30,000 goal. Your sponsorship will provide young children the early start they need to have the best chance for a successful future, while enhancing your brand and demonstrating your commitment to serving our community.
South Shore Stars provides the highest quality early education and youth development programs for the communities south of Boston. Using a family support approach in collaboration with schools and other service providers, South Shore Stars aims to enhance the optimal growth of children from economically and culturally diverse families. It has been serving children and youth from newborn through 18 years of age for over 50 years.
